Vintage and Retro are words that get tossed around quite a bit. There are sites on the internet that offer reproductions of these shirts, and others that offer the actual vintage shirt that someone wore to see Peter Frampton. How do you find these shirts and how much do they cost? Let’s take a look.

Wolfgang’s Vault, located at www.wolfgangsvault.com is a site with lots of vintage rock tees. They display from oldest to newest on their vintage page. There are a lot of popular shirts, and you have probably seen people wearing some of them. Some of these older ones include The Rolling Stones, Santana, The Doobie Brothers, and The Pretenders. One really cool thing about this site is that they have vintage event t-shirts like Day on The Green t-shirts from 1985. This was an event that Bill Graham put on every year in San Francisco. This site has some pretty rare stuff like shirts from B.J. Thomas and Cyndi Lauper. Shirts range from $198 for an old Grateful Dead shirt to $38 for a Back Street Boys Shirt. Those old Grateful Dead shirts seem to be the most popular and most expensive on Wolfgang’s site. He deals with a lot of the seventies bands.

If you are jonesin for the 80s, then head on over to www.myteespot.com and peruse their collection of vintage rock t-shirts. Obviously, right now vintage Michael Jackson shirts are extremely popular. Apparently something happened to Michael and his concert t-shirts and anything related to him have become very popular. Another good shirt from the 80s to have is a vintage RUN DMC shirt. This site has shirts for a very reasonable price starting at $19.95. Beware. These are reproduction shirts over there. That’s why they are $19.95. If you like new shirts and aren’t concerned with having one that someone already sweat all over, head over to this site.

Obviously, the bigger the name you have, the more expensive the shirt is going to be. Vintage shirts from the 60s featuring Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, and The Who are at a premium. From the 70s, it’s Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones. It’s almost impossible to go to a mall and not see a Ramones shirt or a CBGB tee, and these are available at Hot Topic. For the other stuff, you are going to have to dig a little deeper.

Reproduction shirts are easy to come by, but if you are looking for the real McCoy, you may have to head out to your local salvation army and any thrift store you can find. These places can yield untold treasures.
